Sandy Morris joined One Agency in April 2014 and is the Principal of One Agency Sandy Morris in Canberra.
She initially heard about One Agency through a former colleague at a large agency who had made the move and with his encouragement Sandy took a look at the One Agency business model.
‘The decision to join One Agency was not one that I made lightly. I had a great offer to join one of the other large agencies in town but I put quite a bit of thought into what I wanted to get out of the next 10 years in real estate. The freedom to run my own business the way I wanted to run it was the deciding factor for me.’
Once the decision had been made the rest flowed very smoothly for her.
‘Head Office took over and provided me with everything that I needed to get myself started and I had some very supportive vendors that followed me to One Agency so that was a nice start and I am thrilled with how it is going now.’
Sandy set up her business at home and the team at head office organised all the stationary, signboards, sold stickers and branding, helping to keep the whole process simple.
It wasn’t nearly as daunting as I thought it was going to be but I did have the other One Agent guys in town to bounce things off and that was invaluable, they’ve been fabulous and extremely supportive!
‘The support from One Agency has been fabulous – nothing is ever too much trouble and I could not have done it without all their help. I got to meet Paul and his lovely wife Annie at a colleague’s house last weekend and it was great to finally put a face to the name.’

She felt very welcome with words of encouragement from One Agency agents around the country through the closed Facebook Group page where members can discuss business and share knowledge with others within the group privately.
The most appealing thing with the One Agency brand has been the freedom it’s allowed Sandy as a business owner.
‘There is always someone there for support from Head Office but it is up to the individual to build their reputation and provide a great service that will, in turn, grow your referral network. Your business can be as small or as large as you want it to be.’
Without a national brand behind her, Sandy believes that starting a business and succeeding in the current market would be near impossible to achieve.
She is full steam ahead with marketing plans to kick-start her business and has developed new style of pre-list kit and has her own website launching soon, plus a radio advertising campaign on its way.
‘I would definitely encourage anyone that has experience and has a referral network already established to find out more. It also helps if you have someone in your area that has already joined the One Agency group that you can confide in and find out a bit more about this fabulous brand.’
